Grape
harvests 2017 |
A double historical year !!!
Historical, first of all in precocity
because the Chardonnay was harvested on September 7th, and the
Pinot was recolted on September 7th and 8th. Finally, the harvest
of Gamay took place from 12 till 14 September, that is approximately
1 month earlier than a normal year.
Historical then in quantity because the harvest represents approximately
the third of a normal year. This low yield is the consquence
of a dramatic frost end of April and a drought severe especially
during summer.
Fortunately, the harvest is of excellent quality. |

Second half : Final bottling of the
Rosé 2016 |
February
2017 |
From February, 3 to 7,
we were at the Vinidome exhibition
which takes place in the Grande Halle at Clermont Ferrand. This
26e edition was less successful than those of the previous years.
There were less visitors and wine lovers, and the sales were
in fall. The multiplication of viticultural exhibitions
is surely for something.
On February 22, the
pruning of the vineyard is finished. |
December
2016 |
Second half : First bottling of the
Rosé 2016 and
bottling of the Blanc 2016 |
November
2016 |
Second half : The
malolactic fermentations of the red wines are ended. They
were racked to eliminate lees in suspension. |
Grape
harvests 2016 |
A surprising year!!!
Again this year, the grape harvest spread
out over fifteen days and began as in 2014!
Chardonnay was collected on September 30. Then, the Pinot was
gathered on October, 3 and 4. Lastly, the harvest of Gamay proceeded
from October 6 to 12.
The weather was very changeable all
year round. After a rainy spring, the summer knew very strong
hot season. In spite of these difficult conditions, the harvest
was of an excellent quality. The grapes were for perfect maturity
and very healthy. The quantity is moderated, but the quality
is there. |

The consecration!
November 16th: That's
it! For 21 years when Auvergne waited for it, the vineyard of
the Côtes d'Auvergne enters finally the court of the great
by picking up the Appelation of Controlled Origin (AOC). The
decision was taken by the national committee of the INAO, the
National Institute of the Origin and of the Quality. By 40 votes
for, two votes against and one abstention, the request of entry
in AOC of the vineyard of the Côtes d'Auvergne was validated.
This classification will come into effect for the Harvest 2011.
For our exploitation, the Blanc and the Rosé will
thus be in AOC Côtes d'Auvergne.
